Rae Hicks was born in London in 1988, and grew up in Somerset before attending the BA Art Practice course at Goldsmiths College in 2008, graduating in 2012.

During his time at Goldsmiths, he took a deferred year out to study at the HFBK Hamburg with Anselm Reyle.
Since graduating, he has participated in and co-organised many group shows, including Demimonde (organised by Slate Projects), An Aggregate Material at Lewisham Art House and Types of Wood at Peckham Springs.

Recent solo exhibitions include Fast Dream (CANAL) and
Three Works presents Rae Hicks at Three Works, Weymouth.

His work was presented at Start Art Fair with CANAL (solo stand) in September 2015 and at Sluice Art Fair with Slate Projects in October 2015.
